Sometimes things happen and we aren’t ready for it.
A few weeks ago, my boss resigned from the company I have been working at for about 5 months. In order to really grasp the extent of my dissapointment, it’s important to understand that I had been looking for a new job for at least 2 years…. Let’s just say, my prior employer wasn’t capable of appreciating what I had to offer despite how hard I tried to please him and how dedicated I was. In life, that happens often. We often try our best and we really feel like we are giving our all yet it goes unnoticed and unappreciated. If we stay trapped in a situation like this for too long, you sort of start “drinking the cool-aid” as they say..and you start believing that you are less than whole and that you are not good enough. It’s a delusion.
The short time I spent with my boss was a blessing and re-affirmed my confidence that I did in fact have a lot to offer. He was appreciative, understanding, caring, patient and most importantly to me, he was a mentor. Moving forward will be a lot easier now that I have had this experience. I am grateful to have this clarity and I pray that you can have this kind of clarity when things don’t go as planned in your life. xo
