“People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.”
I dug up this quote by Mother Theresa this morning and it certainly hit the spot. The good fight is always the harder fight and you are sometimes standing alone. When I am determing what that “good fight” is…it is easier for me to view it as a conversation with myself and what I feel I should be contributing to the universe, to God…to this world to make it a better place.
It goes something like this…what are the choices that I have made, i.e., what are the things I have chosen to take a stand for and what are the words I used to express myself…the kindness I showed despite the indifferences. Do the answers of these questions bring me peace. xo
