One of my favorite poems is “Because she would ask me why I loved her” by Christopher Brennan. I love this poem because sometimes you don’t know exactly why someone fits into your life. It could be that you have met so many that didn’t fit and so you just know. I definitely believe this has a lot to do with knowing yourself and what you need to be happy. How many of us can honestly say that we know what we need to be happy, to be truly happy. And I am not talking about winning the lottery. For the first time in about 15 years, I have a solid Valentine, and you bet your bottom dollar, that I am milking it. For the first time, I don’t fear that my Valentine will mysteriously get sick the night before Valentine’s Day, or disappear from cyber world a week before. Ahhhh, it does feel good and I have certainly earned it!
Where ever you are, know that there is someone or some kind of love out there that will fit you or maybe you are happy loving your cat, and that’s okay too. Don’t let anyone tell you what is right for you. You just need a love that suits you and your needs. Once you know who you are, and you put it out into the universe, you will be pleasantly surprised at what comes back to you 🙂 xo
Happy Valentine’s Day Lovers!! As Buddha says, Lovers are people who wish the best for others.
“Because she would ask me why I loved her” by Christopher Brennan.
If questioning would make us wise
No eyes would ever gaze in eyes;
If all our tale were told in speech
No mouths would wander each to each.
Were spirits free from mortal mesh
And love not bound in hearts of flesh
No aching breasts would yearn to meet
And find their ecstasy complete.
For who is there that lives and knows
The secret powers by which he grows?
Were knowledge all, what were our need
To thrill and faint and sweetly bleed?
The pictures above were taken with my phone, so, pardon the distortion of some of them, but I kind of liked that they were imperfect. xo
