Ever look back at something you wrote…sang, etc..and wonder where that inspiration came from that prompted these words that almost seem unrecognizable to you right now. It happens to me from time to time…and most of the time, it’s bittersweet.
To be able to feel and express your emotions without the taint of the bitterness that life throws at you is….let’s face it, really hard. To be able to put it into beautiful, relatable words, is a talent. I call it a talent because not everyone is poetic at making the worst case scenario’s seem beautifully tragic. I guess that is why I always loved romantic poetry and ballads. I feel like they connect us to humanity by knowing that someone out there has felt the same or simliar pain that we are feeling at that moment.
Below is a little something I wrote years ago. I’m no Shakespeare, but to this day, when I read it, it’s still has a bit of an effect on me…. it’s a postcard as well and can be found here: https://www.etsy.com/listing/88145336/i-like-it-when-poem-postcard
